Dr. Roy has worked with the environmental effects of different toxic and carcinogenic metals like selenium, lead, cadmium, arsenic and zinc. Besides environmental pollution, Dr. Roy has worked on other problems including greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, bioremediation, soil and nutrient management. She got the best research award from Sigma Xi for her research on selenium bioavailability in coal mines of West Virginia.
